Biography

Family law is never just legal—it’s personal, emotional, and often happening during the most uncertain chapter of someone’s life. Eva Freeman brings both strong legal training and real-life perspective to her work, guiding clients through divorce and custody matters with clarity, preparation, and steady advocacy.

Eva’s path to practicing law began with a deep commitment to excellence and service. She earned her B.A. in English from UNC Greensboro, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Tau Delta. She later completed her paralegal certificate at Duke University and worked in family law—experience that shaped her passion for supporting clients through high-stakes family transitions.

Eva went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law (2020). During law school, she built meaningful courtroom and client-facing experience through internships with the Wake County Public Defender’s Office and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Eva chose family law intentionally. She understands what clients are carrying—not only as an advocate, but from lived experience as a child of divorce and as a parent who is divorced and co-parenting. That perspective informs how she shows up for clients: empathetic, direct, and focused on helping people regain stability and move forward.

What you can expect when working with Eva

  • A steady, supportive presence in a process that can feel overwhelming
  • Clear explanations and proactive communication so you’re never left guessing
