When the outcome matters—and the process feels overwhelming—you want an attorney who is both courtroom-tested and deeply human in how she supports you. Shannon Tucker has practiced law in North Carolina since 1993, bringing decades of experience, calm leadership, and steadfast advocacy to clients navigating high-stakes family and legal matters.
Shannon earned her undergraduate degree from UNC, majoring in Ancient and Medieval History with a minor in English Literature, and went on to attend UNC School of Law. Early in her career, she handled a blend of family law and criminal law cases before serving in the Durham County Office of the Public Defender—experience that sharpened her ability to think quickly, prepare thoroughly, and advocate effectively in difficult circumstances.
Shannon has extensive courtroom experience, appearing regularly in both District and Superior Courts. She has achieved strong results for clients at trial and has successfully argued cases before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court. And while her litigation background is deep, Shannon is quick to tell clients what she believes matters just as much: empathy, compassion, and the ability to help people feel steady when life is not.
- Seasoned courtroom judgment—clear strategy, thorough preparation, and confident advocacy
- Straight answers and steady communication, especially when stress is high
- A compassionate approach, grounded in protecting your dignity and your goals throughout the case
Shannon is equally committed to serving the community. She has been involved with the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties since 2002 and served as League President (2011–2012). She has also served on the board of Communities In Schools of Durham, supported local fundraising efforts as Main Event Co-Chair for Band Together, and volunteered for years with the Caring House Gala and the Animal Protection Society of Durham.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and playing tennis with her husband—and she loves cheering for their daughter at polo matches.
